I thought the idea of the shredded latex core with the polyester filled pouches around it was great in theory, then when i laid on it, the fiber pushed all the way through into the shredded latex and the latex felt hard and lumpy.
Anyone dealt with this in latex pillows? It seems to me people like to recommend shredded latex as a similar alternative to solid latex, but in no way are the properties the same
I’m feeling a bit betrayed by the review sites. It seems they are commissioned to say that’s the best pillow but i don’t see how it could be. If it were a solid piece of latex in the core, maybe so.
Saatva latex pillow, high loft. The internal pouch does not have a zipper, but i ordered a cheap memory foam pillow that has good quality memory foam shreds and i plan on cutting it open, mixing that foam with the latex because when i looked online people were showing it’s only half full. Then ill sew the pouch shut again and it should be perfect.
I had another latex pillow from amazon that had the latex noodles. It was very full, but really firm when i laid on it. Ive read quite a few people saying shredded latex feels firm but then you see all over people saying it’s responsive and soft.
Update on the mod, its true the shredded latex didnt really feel hard when i cut open the pouch and grabbed the latex. I guess it just translates that way for me. I filled up the empty part of the sack with shredded memory foam, mixed it up and now the pillow feels amazing.
I have had shredded latex pillows for years. I love them. For one, you can smush/shape/adjust them however you want. Second, you can remove fill to make it flatter or add fill to make it fuller.
