Hi everyone, my wife and I just started the process of shopping for a new mattress. We’ve been surviving on a spring king with a memory foam topper that we got second hand for about 4 years now, but as I’ve struggled continually with sleep issues, we both feel it’s time to make a good investment in a proper mattress. We went to a local Mattress Firm and tried out a few brands and models and decided that we best liked the Tempur LuxeAdapt medium hybrid. However, this was before I had done any research on the risks of going with a major brand vs potential alternatives. I’d love to check out more local options but have no idea how to find any in our area (zip code 95624). Latex sounds promising but we really just want to find something comfortable, and if possible, something that would work with an adjustable base. We also would prefer to try something out in person before purchasing. Thanks!
As the founder of Tempflow and Back Science mattresses, as well as being a Doctor of Chiropractic with over 20 years of experience in mattress design, I am happy to share with you some perspectives and recommendations.
It’s excellent that you identified the Tempur-Pedic LuxeAdapt Medium Hybrid as a feel you both enjoyed. This is very helpful because I’m excited to share that we’ve just released our Tempflow SupremeConforma Medium Hybrid, which our internal testing and early customer feedback indicate is an extremely close match to the feel, pressure relief, and support profile of the LuxeAdapt Medium Hybrid. It offers that luxurious, adaptive comfort you appreciated, and importantly, provides this comparable premium experience at a significant savings compared to what you might spend on a Tempur-Pedic, while being priced consistently with our other two popular SupremeConforma models.
Crucially, like all Tempflow mattresses, the SupremeConforma Medium Hybrid features our patented Airflow Transfer System™. This design promotes significantly better air circulation than many traditional memory foams or other hybrids, which is key for cooler, undisturbed sleep and can certainly help with the sleep issues you’ve mentioned. And yes, all our Tempflow mattresses are fully compatible with adjustable bases.
I completely understand your desire to try a mattress in person. Tempflow and Back Science are factory-direct brands, allowing us to use premium, U.S.-made components and innovative designs while offering better value. While we don’t have third-party retail stores in the 95624 (Elk Grove) area, our main factory showroom, Ultrabed, is located in Agoura Hills in Southern California. It’s a unique place where you can try Tempflow, Back Science, and compare them against virtually every other major brand, including Tempur-Pedic. I know Agoura Hills is a journey from Elk Grove, but it’s an option if you’re ever in the area.
To bridge the distance, we offer a 120-night in-home sleep trial for Tempflow mattresses. This allows you to truly experience the mattress in your own environment without any concern if it for some reason did not perfectly suit your needs, since you will never really know how a mattress does until you sleep on it. If for some reason it isn’t working properly for you, we offer completely free modifications where we can even customize to your specifications and if that doesn’t work, we can even switch it to a different model or brand at no cost, but you can also take us up on a full return of the mattress with no restocking fees.
My team of Sleep Experts and I are also always available for detailed phone consultations. We can dive deep into your preferences, what you liked about the LuxeAdapt, and ensure you’re matched with the best possible option.
You also mentioned an interest in latex. While latex offers its own distinct, responsive feel, if you’re exploring alternatives and perhaps want something that provides a unique balance of support and comfort, you might also consider our Back Science mattress line. The feel of our Back Science mattresses is often described by customers as being ‘somewhere between’ the deep contouring of memory foam (like Tempflow or Tempur-Pedic) and the quicker, more buoyant response of latex. As a Doctor of Chiropractic, I designed the Back Science mattresses with a primary focus on optimal spinal alignment, featuring our patented Lumbar-Flex™ zoned support system. Many individuals, especially those with back discomfort or who are seeking robust support with excellent pressure distribution, find this design incredibly beneficial.
Ultimately, finding a mattress that provides proper spinal alignment, excellent pressure relief, and helps regulate temperature is key for restorative sleep. These are the guiding principles behind both our Tempflow and Back Science designs.
I invite you to explore our Tempflow website (www.Tempflow.com) and learn more about the unique approach of our Back Science line (www.BackScience.com) and you can even give us a call with any questions at 800 667-1969. When you check out the Back Science mattresses, please note that as a member of The Mattress Underground, you can receive a 10% discount on any Tempflow or Back Science mattress by using the code TMU10 at checkout on the BackScience.com site.
