I presently have a latex mattress, which I do like a lot but still find it a bit too firm. I was considering adding a topper, and there were two I was looking at in particular. 1) I tried the Nest Bedding topper which is blended latex and a foam called “ecoflex” on top of it. It was very comfortable. Do you know much about ecoflex? Is that a quality foam? 2) I saw that Sleep EZ has a 4" topper (3" of talalay latex and 1" of wool). That intrigues me, but I can’t see what it feels like first because I am far from Arizona. Any thoughts on either of these products in terms of their quality? Thank you!
Hi Jomaco,
Thanks for reaching out to Luma Sleep via The Mattress Underground!
Back in 2013, Phoenix noted that “Ecoflex is just polyfoam and 1.5 lb density is on the upper end of the lower quality range of polyfoam density”. If it’s a thin layer (1" or less") there is not a lot to be concerned about as even if it breaks down, there is latex beneath it.
You may want to check with SleepEZ to see if they provide an in-home trial for their Talalay latex topper. Chances are they will and you can then test it yourself with low risk.
Hope this helps!
Team Luma
Thank you! SleepEZ does offer an in-home trial, with a pretty minimal risk… probably about $100 to send it back if I don’t like it. Thank you again!
