3 weeks ago, I ordered a 3" Select Foam (brand) mattress topper. My credit card was immediately charged, but Select Foam Inc. just couldn’t promise a ship date. My credit card co. issued a temporary credit and Select Foam sent an e-mail apologizing for the inability to ship, and said, “we have now credited your account” . We then went to a local Bed, Bath and Beyond and bought a Sheetz (brand) 3" foam topper.
Now, FedEx suddenly delivers the Select Foam topper. It weighs 32 lbs vs. the Sheetz at 28.5 lbs.
Heavier weight suggests firmer support, but we hesitate to take it out and try it vs. the Sheetz topper because then we will be on the
hook for return shipping (we figure about $30). Left in it’s shipping box, Select Foam will have to pay for the return. Toppers (all brands)
must be packed by machine. I can’t just take it out and shoe-horn in back into their box!
Maybe I’m not looking in all the right places, but I am not finding out much on this company and their mattress toppers.
I ordered from them because their web site seemed to be informative and consumer-oriented.
Anyone out there have this product (Select Foam mattress topper) in use, and can tell me if they are satisfied or not?
Most thanks!

Hi Dixidude39,
I talked with Peter at Select Foam and he suggested that you call him to find out what may have happened but in the meantime you are free to open the box and try the topper and if you like it better than the Sheetz then you could keep it and pay a discounted price and if you didn’t they would look after the return shipping although you may need a slightly bigger box.
Select Foam is one of the invited manufacturing members of this site which means that they use good quality materials and I think highly of them and the quality/value of the products they supply.

Thanks for going to the trouble (calling Select Foam). I believe we will take the Select Foam product from its box and give it a try. If
it’s better (my intuitions says it will), we can return the Bed, Bath and Beyond Sheetz and contact Select Foam about paying for
their product just received. :cheer:
Looks like the Select Foam topper is the better of the two. On Monday, I plan to call Peter at Select Foam. I’m glad you talked to him and that you said “go ahead and try it.” While it’s a bit of a hassle, at least returning the Sheetz topper to Bed, Bath and Beyond is a lot easier than trying to mail a foam topper! If Select Foam will allow a discount for our troubles, I’ll gladly write an honest, but good review of the Select Foam product.
Hi Dixiedude39,
I’m looking forward to hearing about the outcome of your conversation with them but Peter did tell me that they would provide a discount for the topper because of their mistake but I didn’t ask about any numbers.

We are happy that we opened the Select Foam 3" thick topper and compared it with the Sheetz (brand) 3" thick topper from Bed, Bath and Beyond. Even though we are NOT experts on toppers (by any means), the story is in the actual comparative sleep test. Clearly the Select Foam product is superior! Also, the construction, including the cover, is far superior. Sheetz should stick to their specialty (high-end sheets and pillow cases), and leave foam toppers and mattresses to Select Foam. It was a bit of an effort to haul the Sheetz topper back to Bed, Bath and Beyond, but we’re fully satisfied with the Select Foam product. Note: the price of both products was identical.
Peter and I came to a mutually satisfactory agreement. See my review of the product, one that is genuine by the way.
Hi Dixidude39,
Thanks for the update … I appreciate it
