Selectfoam Cirrus-es 11 or Conform-Regalis Luxe? Thanks for the help!

It is time for me to pull the trigger and buy a bed. I am just deciding between the Selectfoam Cirrus-es 11 and the Conform-Regalis Luxe. I am a 5’8" 165lb male stomach/side sleeper with a history of back issues. I laid a bit on the tempurpedic versions but could really go either way. The thing that has me thinking about the Regalis is that it is described for people with chronic pain. The regalia is a bit more expensive, and already slightly higher than my max budget.

Thoughts?

Hi tello,

As you probably know … the Cirrus Luxe is similar to the Tempurpedic Cloud Luxe and the Regalis is similar to the Tempurpedic Rhapsody and these are very different mattresses.

There is more about the most important parts of the “value” of a mattress purchase in post #13 here which may help you make more meaningful comparisons between mattresses.

There is also more about the different ways to choose a mattress (local or online) that can help you minimize the risk involved in each of them in post #2 here.

Neither one of these mattresses have any weak links in terms of durability or the quality of the materials relative to your weight (although the Regalis uses higher quality/density memory foam) so I would make your choice based on which one you believe would be the best match for you in terms of PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences) hopefully using the testing guidelines in the tutorial post … along with a more detailed conversation with Select Foam who can help “talk you through” which of the two would have the best chance of success for your body type and sleeping style (see mattress firmness/comfort levels in post #2 here).

Based on your stomach sleeping and assuming that you are confident that both of them are a good match for you in terms of PPP … I would probably tend to lean towards the firmer Regalis because a mattress that is too soft can easily lead to alignment issues for stomach sleepers but again I would make your choice based on a combination of your careful local testing and your phone conversation with Select Foam.

NOTE ADDED: Because of ongoing customer service issues and delays Select Foam’s membership has been terminated and I would read the warning here before considering them.

Thanks Phoenix for the input and the links. After reading over them in more detail, I decided to go with the Cirrus and exchange if I did not like how I slept on it. Truth is I am not a true stomach sleeper, more of a further rotated side sleeper (1 arm under the pillow and opposite knee bent)…kind of looks like a chalk outline of a murder scene. Being very lean, this puts a lot of pressure on a single hip “point.” Based on the conversation with Pedro (Peter) from Selectfoam this seemed liked the best option, he was a very patient and helpful. Now I just have to wait!!! I will follow up with my thoughts later on. Ciao!

Hi tello,

It sounds like you made a great choice and I’m glad you took the time to discuss your choice with Select Foam in more detail.

I’m looking forward to your comments and feedback once you’ve received it and have had the chance to sleep on it for a bit.

Most importantly … congratulations on your new mattress
