Any thoughts on this mattress? I haven’t seen any reviews about it nor could I find too much details about the design. I have a feeling this community is going to think it’s way overpriced. However, I have their sheets which are fantastic and it piqued my interest.

HOLY SMOKES was my first reaction when I saw the pricetag. But then I started digging into the specs and…well…yeah, that pricetag makes a lot more sense.
Would I purchase this bed? No way. My kid or dogs would destroy it before I could count to three. I’d be curious to know what their “premium natural fibers” are, as well as the density of their gel foam.
But this mattress has horse hair, cashmere, silk, New Zealand wool, latex…
I wonder if they’d be willing to provide a more detailed spec sheet.

I thought I would throw my two cents in here as Sferra is a luxury company, producing luxury products.
The Sferra Nuvole Pillow Top Mattress is no exception in that luxury market, a high-end option that clearly aims to compete with brands like Vispring and Shifman’s Vintage or there brand new 1893 line. It’s loaded with premium materials, including over 3,000 (pocketed and micro)coils, a horsehair pad for airflow, layers of natural latex, and a plush top with wool, cashmere, and silk. On paper, it sounds like a dream setup for comfort and support. Plus, the mattress presents itself with an elegant look (which unfortunately will never get any recognition as who leaves their mattress totally uncovered on display in their home) with its hand-tufted rosettes and Belgian silk cover, which gives it a true luxury feel.
That said, there are some definite drawbacks. Sferra is better known for their linens than for mattresses, and this one comes at a very steep price, often starting around $8,000 and going much higher. There is nothing inherently wrong with that, as that is where many of the luxury mattresses land these days. Plus we tend to sometimes overpay for the name recognition and quality materials.
Unfortunately, there’s no trial period, no returns, and not much in the way of real-world reviews, except their reputation, which makes it a bit of a challenge. Sferra also has a reputation for being overpriced in general, even if their quality is usually solid.
Since you are already a fan of the brand and if you are looking for a luxury splurge, it might be worth a shot. But if you want more reassurance or the option to return it if it doesn’t work out, other long-established mattress makers might be a safer bet.
I know that the “idea” of it sounds enticing. When I become a big fan of a brand, I tend to go crazy with my purchasing. In some ways, whatever brings you to love a brand, can be reassuring that, most items they make will be equally as lovable. Just check my closet, Tommy Bahama everything and Top Sider collection of boat shoes, and I dont own a boat or go to the beach much. LOL.

Thanks both for the input! It was very helpful. I actually was near their store and able to test out their mattresses. I personally found the Nuvole to be too soft, but I did go ahead and purchased the Sonno Notte. I found it really comfortable. I’m probably overpaying, but it is what it is.
