A lot of companies roll and vacuum their mattresses to make them cheaper to ship in a box. I read online that does help with the longevity of the mattress. Any input on this?

Some people think it might affect how long the mattress lasts, but that’s not really the case if it’s unboxed within the recommended time. It’s important to remember that while compression helps with size for shipping, it doesn’t change the weight limit or how much support the mattress can offer. The durability still depends on the quality of the materials and how it’s used over time. Many shipping companies have weight restrictions which can grossly effect cost. Once that 150lb limit is hit, costs skyrocket. Many manufacturers will ship a mattress in two parts, as it is cheaper to ship 2 packages under the weight limit, than one package that exceeds the weight limit.

@Maverick covered things well. I would just add that the vendors we work with ship latex this way and we have not had complaints. The warranties range from 10-25 years, so you are looking at a product that will last awhile, even if it was rolled up for a limited time at the outset.
Our companies make and ship the components to order, so they aren’t sitting in a warehouse for a long time either.
