Shock Assorber

Hello, I have a condition with my chest that any jerk or shaking brings me intense pain. I took an ambulance ride a year ago and am still suffering from the vibration of the long ride. It was almost like riding on a paint shaker. I have to make the trip again and was wondering if I could place some kind of shock absorbing mattress on the gurney to prevent getting hurt again. So, I’m asking the experts what they might suggest. Thank you.

Hi tooshy,

The material that has the greatest capacity to absorb energy (hysteresis) and dampen vibration is memory foam so a few inches of memory foam (say a 3" topper) would likely work very well. I would probably lean towards higher density such as 5 lbs which will be more conforming and probably more effective.
