Hi all,
Ok I’ll lay this out front: Im a dummy. I fell for it. The marketing, the hype , the sales pitch, the “feel at the store”. the 25 year warrantee , etc. Ask me to buy a piece of electronics gear and I’ll research it for weeks. Spend $3k on a mattress, and I did it because it felt great, she loved it ,and there were a lot of promises… and now we’re stuck.
Here’s the story: Last August (2012) we bought a Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme, and let me tell you it was the most AMAZING bed either of us had EVER slept on. Back pain was GONE. (background: she’s 115lb and Im ~160). We have loved this bed up until…two weeks ago. All of the sudden, we are sinking into the middle of it. Most of the support is gone in the places where we sleep. You can feel on the bed that the support still exists on the places we dont sleep. This can not be observed visually, however. Ie. there is no noticeable visual “sag” per se. Please note: we asked the salesperson at the time of sale “Will it maintain its firmness over its lifetime?” “Oh gosh, yes!”, says he: “And if not, you can exchange it for a brand new one”.
Now nothing lasts forever, and of course I expected it to wear, but … under a YEAR? (I now have read on the forums that they all do this…but in a few months!?)
That said, we figured it was a defect, right? That Tempurpedic would send us another one, because ours must be bad, right? WRONG. The mattress has to sag 4inches visually before they will address it. Now I feel like a giant idiot with a bunch of money that has disappeared, and back pain that has re-appeared for both of us (and we were so great for months!! :((((((
Sucker, huh? I know.
Here is what we would love: not revenge, not a class action lawsuit… not even (heavens!) a refund! We just want that same comfort back!!! Is there something we could buy that feels like this thing did for the first several months, but would remain so , for say, 5 years???
Im coming to you guys because I honestly don’t want to be screwed again on a different bed. (pun intended)
Trying to remain smiling…
Thanks for any help.
