Silk and Snow Organic Mattress

I am looking at the Silk and Snow Organic Mattress and I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts about it. My biggest issue with mattresses is that I am a heater so I am trying to avoid synthetic materials if possible. I previously looked at a few Berkeley Ergonomics mattresses and enjoyed the idea of maximum amount of natural fibers. The Silk and Snow Organic seems to have a lot of the materials I want for much less $ than the Berkeley Ergonomics mattresses.

Hey durangatang,

Welcome to TMU  ! Thanks for dropping in and for your question.

The Silk and Snow Organic Mattress is a hybrid model, using 2.5" of Dunlop latex as comfort material over a tri-zoned pocket coil support core. It is available in one firmness: medium firm. While the site makes mention of their component certifications, they do not have them available for review, making it difficult to confirm the “natural” claims of its materials. I am not personally familiar with Silk and Snow, but hopefully other consumers near your area can offer more insights than I have currently. Good luck with your searching and let us know if you are able to confirm more details regarding their mattresses’ construction  .

Thanks,
Sensei

Why would they have 2 layers of latex that are seemingly the same instead of 1 thick layer?

I purchased this about seven months ago and returned it after the 30 day period.

Pro - as a hot sleeper it was never hot, it seemed to breath nicely, I never once woke up in a pool of my own sweat.

Con - Far too firm for me. I’m coming from a Novosbed Firm (which failed to support me (200lb male, side/back sleeper) after three and a half years), and I found this mattress did nothing to alleviate my lower back pain. I found the latex layer was thin enough that it felt like an older school innerspring mattress. I did purchase a tempurpedic topper, which helped significantly in the feel department, but led to overheating. In the end I returned it.

If you are ok with a firm mattress, or are considerably heavier than myself - it might be your ticket - I would definitely not classify it as medium firm.

I messaged Silk and Snow and this is what they told me for the certifications.
