Simba hybrid Pro, edge to edge question

So I have a new 2024 Simba Hybrid Pro mattress. I used to sleep on a double, but thought I would try a small double.

This has two layers of Aerocoil springs nearer the top and also SupportCore sprung base nearer the bottom.

I believe that the 2 layers of Aerocoil springs are boxed in (around 10cm?). Now does this in effect reduce the beneficial sleep surface, as sleeping nearer the edge your body will not be on top of these springs.

Thanks

Hi Ajo.

Welcome to our Mattress Forum. Congratulations on your new bed!

I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking. Are you wondering if sleeping near the edge of the mattress will mitigate the comfort and support you’d receive sleeping more inward on the mattress?

I looked at their images online and the layers appear to be uniform, with no edge reinforcement, so in theory it wouldn’t really matter where you sleep on the mattress.

Unless you were sleeping on the literal edge (like about to fall off the bed), I don’t think there would be a way to avoid distributing your body and weight across the springs to some degree. But just sleeping near the edge shouldn’t get in the way of your sleep experience.

Is there a specific reason you’re asking?

Thank you for your reply.

Yes I was wondering if sleeping near the edge would mitigate the comfort really. You are right the website does show the layers uniform, but they also advertise that they have great edge support. I watched one of Alan Ross’ reviews which showed them boxed in which is party how the edge support worked, but this might be an old mode. There are also the attached Simba pictures which come on Google, but not on their website anymore. So maybe they have updated the way they do their edge support.

Only other reason for asking really is just out of interest.
