I have a Luma Sleep Hybrid. Since they’re no longer in business I can’t reference their website to recall the actual construction, but I know it’s springs, medium firmness dunlop, and then I have a talalay topper.
We moved and I want to buy a new bed frame that will fit under our window frame since it’s the only place for a king bed in this room. The only one I can find that will fit under the window and has the look I want is the West Elm Roan, but the slat spacing it 4.4". With my mattress construction, is this even doable? Could I add a bunkie board or does that introduce breathability concerns?
What size is your bed? 4.2" isn’t terrible, but closer than that would be better.
I just wanted to mention incline sleeping, since the frame you were looking at is about $1000, theres a queen size inclining bed frame on mattressfoundations.com for $1000 that has a very high quality slat system with 1.5" spacing. I’ve been seeing people are getting huge benefits from sleeping from 4-6" inclined. And they also have an extremely good quality standard frame support. Which looks different than the one you mentioned, but it is only about $500.
In that case, you can just buy another set of slats that would fit in between what’s there on amazon. Or if you decided to try incline sleeping, that site i shared has foam wedges to place under the mattress. I think that would basically negate the slat spacing being a little too far.
