I have had my mattress for just about a week! I went with side Talalay medium Dunlop extra firm base
I am 5ft 7 178 pounds very dense and muscular with wide hips and wide shoulders strict back sleeper only
I am noticing ankle, knee and shoulder pain where the mattress is “ pushing back” on me! and the areas that are making direct contact and causing “pressure” feel great and supportive!
Unfortunately I “split” the mattress on the bottom 2 layers but it’s one solid sheet of soft on top ( my fault didn’t notice I did that)
Could it be too soft on the top causing the outer extremities to feel more push back? Never had latex before and really like the support otherwise.
Almost wonder if I should have gotten the 10 or 13 inch model now tbh
Thanks and sorry for the rant

Please keep in mind that we ship out our covers to be tight because we understand that the cover will loosen up and break in over the first 2 months of use, at which point it will be the “right size.” Since the cover is tighter than “normal” right now, it’s giving the mattress more surface tension and therefore a firmer feel. Once the fabric and stitching in the cover breaks in and loosens up, you will be able to sink into the mattress more, making for a noticeably softer feel. If you want to see what the mattress will feel like once the cover breaks in, you can go over to the mattress as it is now and just unzip the zipper, while leaving the cover and everything else where it’s at. So just unzip the zipper. If you try this and you’re still getting problems, then you know a layer exchange is probably a good choice.
The 13" isn’t a better mattress, it’s just a taller mattress. Folks go with the 13" mattress if they weigh 300 pounds or more or if they just want a taller mattress. Outside of that, it’s more money than you need to spend.

Sounds good I may try to unzip the cover… My biggest concern is that when I lay flat on my back, I feel numbness and tingling traveling down my lumbar area into my feet and I have never experienced that on a mattress laying flat before! I wonder if it’s just my body adjusting to the new sleeping surface it’s only been a week
