Sleep EZ Hybrid - 2 weeks in, and struggling. What should I do? Topper feedback

I received my hybrid a couple of weeks ago. Overall, I’m satisfied with the quality and makeup on the bed. However I’m having an on-going issue with the topper. We currently have a medium talalay king topper. My wife is overall pretty satisfied (she’s pregnant and we plan on having enough space in the bed for a baby to sometimes co-sleep, thus the king upgrade over queen we had). We like how ventilated it feels compared to our old mattress (memory foam queen from costco). I’m really struggling with the feel. On one hand, it doesn’t feel cushioned enough, as in I could go firmer. On the other hand, I want more conforming. while sitting or lying on my back I feel great flat, ‘neutral’ like support. Laying on my side it almost feels like the topper isn’t sinking with my body, but caving in, like my weight is being pushed to a ‘sagging’ part of the topper. I know there’s like not a defect with the topper, but probably just me. I haven’t really had a good nights sleep since we got the mattress. In fact, I’ve been up till 2,3 in the morning because my body just hadn’t ‘relaxed’

We will be flipping the mattress to try the other side before I officially ask for a topper exchange. In the meantime, what do you suggest/think the route I should go? I should also mention that while I like comfortable support, I have lower back issues (surgeries) and I often take a couple of nights and sleep on the floor. I sleep on this camping mat I use (https://www.thermarest.com/sleeping-pads/fast-and-light/z-lite-sol-sleeping-pad/z-lite-sol.html). Sometimes sleeping on the floor on this, I sleep like a baby. it’s rough on my hips though so I know long term I won’t be sleeping on the floor. I basically had hoped buying a 360 hybrid would get me close to being mostly comfortable in a bed and avoid sleeping on the floor again.

Thanks for any feedback,

Hi Campersleeper.

Congratulations on your Sleep EZ purchase. As you likely already know, Sleep EZ is a Trusted Member of The Mattress Underground and we think very highly of them and know they compete with the best in the industry in terms of quality, durability, and expertise.

It sounds like you have already made some careful assessments of your experience on the mattress. Without knowing your BMI or “build” it’s hard for me to know for sure if that’s the reason you feel you’re “collapsing” into the support layer, as it were, but it’s possible you may benefit from either a thicker layer or, as you’ve already mentioned, a firmer layer.

Definitely do flip the mattress to the firmer side to see if that helps at all. This will also be an important data point over all, should you choose to move forward with a layer exchange.

Have you already reached out to Sleep EZ with regards to your concerns? That would be my first suggestion. They know their product best, and if you share your experience, pain points, BMI, sleeping positions, and any other relevant information with them, they may be able to best assist you in getting to the firmness you desire.

Can I ask what kind of base you have the mattress on?
