SleepEz latex - need to sleep in the clouds

This is time sensitive as I need to order this bed for it to arrive by our move in date.

We are in conversations with SleepEZ about purchasing the 10000 model natural latex bed. We currently have a Serta Perfect Night w/ extraordinary pillow topper, which besides being 10+ years old and having way to much motion transfer, is about the right comfort level. We are looking for something that will have us sleeping in a cloud and maybe sink in a little bit.

I’m 220lb 6 foot man who runs and is generally healthy, no pains., My wife is a 190lb, 6 feet and generally has no aches or pains.

We went to sleep organics in sarasota to lay on their naturepedic and savvy rest organic mattresses, they were too expensive we don’t need orgranic. But we laid on one savvy rest all latex mattress that had a firm and soft side and I kind of liked the soft side and then what I think was the savvy rest unity w/ pillow topper latex bed which was just insane comfort for me.

After speaking with sleep ez rep, he recommends the king 10000 model w/ m/m/f for both of us. I have a feeling it won’t be soft enough or comfortable enough, I sit in a hard chair all day at work so I want to sleep in a cloud.

Since I laid on the Savvy rest Unity w/ pillow top (which is a normal latex bed (serenity) with a $2k latex topper on it and wanted it but it was too much, would the 13000 model be sufficient to mimic the unity? Will SleepEZ separate the extra Soft Talalay layer into a topper (i know the feeling is different in separate topper)?

Can I have some recommendations for what layers to go with please, i’ve been creeping on this forum for about a month and think latex is the way to go. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi Sleeplessinsarasota,

Welcome to the Mattress Forum!

Since you stated time is of the essence, I’ll give you a very quick reply. The best advice in approximating something you tested locally will be the people you’re dealing with at SleepEZ, as they are familiar with their product and what layerings would best come close to what you tried in the Savvy Rest line. These are questions they get quite often. If you desire a separate topper, you may wish to speak with them about adding that as well. Any change in layering or the number of layers will change the overall feel of the product from what you tried in a showroom.

I know this isn’t as detailed of a response as I normally provide, but I wanted to make it quick for you.

Is there anybody who’s laid on a saavy rest unity with pillow topper that can recommend me a similar feel for less (non organic)?

Hi Sleeplessinsarastoa,

The Dunlop in the Savvy Rest mattresses is from Coco-Latex and is 100% Natural. The soft is in the ILD range of 22-30, the medium is in the ILD range 31-39, the firm is in the ILD range of 40+. Their Talalay is from Radium and is 100% Natural. Their soft is in the 15-20 (N5) ILD range, their medium is in the 30-37 ILD (N7) range, and their firm is in the 37-44 ILD (N8) range.

Hopefully that helps you with your comparing.

I never heard back from the Sleep EZ rep Rodger so I went with a Biscayne Bedding Boca Grande pocketed inner spring with Talalay latex mattress topper, got an GREAT deal from the Sleep Store in Englewood, Fl. Bob really went out of his way to beat our local mattress store price.

The mattress was very very comfortable and didn’t have too much motion transfer, and the price was right.

Thank you for the very detailed info, it would have helped me a lot in picking a latex mattress, however, I finally laid on a all latex mattress and just didn’t like the feel, too firm and motion transfer was horrendous.

Hi Sleeplessinsarasota,

Congratulations on your new mattress! :cheer: I’m glad you were able to find something that you liked and were able to test it out locally and compare it to other items (although I’m not sure of the actual specifications of the items you tried versus what you bought). Enjoy your new mattress and feel free to post back on how you are adjusting to it after you’ve had a chance to sleep on it a while.
