Hi Phoenix,
Great site! Your info has been very helpful in choosing our new mattress.
After 12 years on a 9" Tempurpedic Classic firm, we needed a new mattress. We chose a 10" SleepEZ King in Organic latex. Wife and I are both side sleepers. Me 6’1" 200 lbs, Her 5’7" 130 lbs.
We originally chose the following layers but found it too soft (too much sink) overall.
Me - Her
Med - Soft (Talalay)
Med - Med (Talalay)
Firm - Firm (Dupont).
This configuration, while very comfortable, was not firm enough for either of use (but close).
I am switching my middle layer to Firm Dupont and my wife is going to a Medium Dupont in the middle layer and she will try both the Soft and Med Talalay as top layers to see what she likes best.
The folks at SleepEz have been very good to work with and they gave us the MUG discount as well as the $500 off sale price . I tried comparable mattresses locally and they were easily $2000 more for essentially the same thing (although I think the SleepEZ component quality may be better overall, or at least you know exactly what you are getting).
I’ll keep you posted on how our layer adjustments go.
Thanks again!
Matt
Hi mattski,
Welcome to the Mattress Forum!
I’m happy that the information presented here is helpful to you.
Congratulations on your new mattress! :cheer: As you know, you made a choice using high quality materials, and I think highly of SleepEZ and their products.
I’m glad that SleepEZ has been helpful to you with the layer configurations and exchanges, and I do look forward to your future updates with those new configurations.

Ok, here is an update after our layer exchange with SleepEZ. The bed is now as close to perfect for both of us as we could hope for. We both are sleeping better than ever. Yay!
SleepEZ was very easy to work with on the layer exchange. The hardest part of the layer exchange was rolling up the return layers to get them in the box!
Wife and I are both side sleepers. Me 6’1" 200 lbs, Her 5’7" 130 lbs. We both prefer a firm bed but don’t want it too “hard” in that it creates pressure points.
We now have the following layers:
Me - Her
Med - Med (Organic Talalay)
Firm - Med (Organic Dupont)
Firm - Firm (Organic Dupont)
The bed is as comfortable as the comparable Prana ands SavvyRest beds we tried, but was less than 1/2 the cost! That is thousands less $$$
Thanks again Phoenix for the great site and helping educate us consumers with helpful and unbiased resources.
Matt
Hi mattski,
Thank you for your update!
I’m happy that SleepEZ was easy to work with for your layer exchanges.
I see that you went up to a firm for your middle layer and changed it to Dunlop from Talalay, and that your wife made a bit more of a drastic change, changing the middle layer from Talalay to Dunlop (but keeping it medium) and then changing the upper layer from soft to medium Talalay.
I’m glad this new configuration is working out better for you both, and I hope you’re able to comment upon your mattress once you’ve had a chance to sleep on this new configuration for a while longer.
