SleepEZ Mattress Config Check & Quesions

Hello @Sleep_EZ!

I’m looking at getting a mattress from you and want to confirm that the configuration looks good and get a couple questions answered.

Here is our info:
Sleeper 1: 125lbs – 5’4” – Sleep issues in order are neck, hip, and shoulder pain. Also, a very light sleeper, and motion transfer will wake me up. Side sleeper mostly, with some back mixed in. Thin body build

Sleeper 2: 165 lbs – 5’ 11” – Side and back sleeper – even mix. Sleeps hot and snores. Thin body build

I’m looking at getting two twin xl’s and an adjustable base that differs for each person. I’m thinking the two xl’s for the adjustable base and motion transfer concerns. We like the mattress to feel soft, but still offer support. We don’t want to be enveloped in the mattress. Since we are similar in what we like in a mattress I have both mattresses as the same design.

Based on research and your website I am thinking of going with the Organic Latex Mattress with the layers as follows: Soft Talalay, Medium GOLS Natural Dunlop, and Firm GOLS Natural Dunlop.

Here are my questions:
Is the Organic Latex the best to go with for hot sleepers or should we go with another option? Based on the TMU site info latex isn’t the best for hot sleepers, but Talalay will be the coolest so it being the top layer is about the best we can go for.

Should we go with 9” or 10”?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Hi Sleepies and thank you so much for the inquiry! Based on the information you’ve provided, I think your layer choices will be absolutely ideal for both of you! We get practically zero complaints about our mattresses sleeping hot, and there’s not a huge difference in breathablity between Talalay and Dunlop, so it’s hard to imagine you’d have a problem either way. Please note, though, that our mattresses ship out with free waterproof mattress protectors, and anything that inhibits the flow of water will inhibit airflow as well, reflecting your body heat back up to you. As such, if you sleep on the mattress and it’s too hot, I’d say just take the free protectors off. Again, even with the protector, we get very few complaints about the mattress being hot, so I think you’ll be just fine.

I absolutely recommend the 10" mattress because the top layer of latex on the 9" mattress is only 2" thick, whereas the top layer in the 10" mattress is 3" thick. Since the top layer is your Talalay layer, this means you’ll only get 2" of Talalay on the 9", which might not be enough to provide the contour and pressure relief needed for you with your existing hip and shoulder pain issues.
