SleepEZ - Three Months In

A couple of months ago, I posted some details of my mattress search up to that point. Was closing in on the Bowles Latex Hybrid or possibly another DIY, but still had an interest in a pure latex bed.

There aren’t any stores locally where I could try all-latex mattresses, and I was hesitant to pull the trigger without at least lying on one. Around that time, I had the opportunity to visit Cloud Mattress in Smyrna, TN on a work trip to Nashville. This store had a large selection of organic and natural mattresses, and I was able to try several beds that I was eying from Naturepedic, Avacado, PlushBeds and others. After testing several beds, I decided that all-latex with an adjustable base would be just what the doctor ordered. Both my wife and I absolutely fell in love with the PlushBeds Organic Bliss, but did not love the price!

After a little bit of additional research, I attempted to recreate the feel of the PlushBed with a @Sleep_EZ mattress. I ended up ordering a split king natural latex - both sides with all dunlop in F/M/M. To really recreate the Organic Bliss feel, I also ordered the Wool Latex Topper in soft talalay. I’m a back/side sleeper at around 200 lbs, and my wife is a side sleeper at about 150. We both absolutely love the bed and agree that we’re having some of the best sleep of our lives.

We’ve made a couple of minor adjustments in the layers since we’ve had the mattress. There wasn’t anything wrong, but there were a couple of things we thought could make it even better. My wife has curvy hips, and felt like she was sinking a little too far into the soft talalay, so we swapped a medium dunlop into the topper for her (layers Fd/Md/St/Md), and she’s loved this config. For me, I adore the soft talalay comfort layer, but felt I could use a little firmer support underneath. Initially, I just flipped the main mattress to get M/M/F/S, but that was too firm with the firm layer right under the topper. I then swapped one of the firm and medium layers. My side is now M/F/M/S, and it’s right in the goldilocks zone now.

We’re now nearing the end of our sleep trial, and will absolutely be keeping the mattress. We haven’t traded out any layers with SleepEZ, and don’t think we will. The only swap I’m sort of considering is replacing one of the medium layers on my side for either a Firm or Extra firm (F/F/M/S or XF/F/M/S). I don’t think I’ll be doing this, though, as I’m very happy with the way the bed feels right now.

Overall, we’re absolutely thrilled with our purchase from SleepEZ. We’re sleeping great, and waking up refreshed, which is all we could ask for out of a mattress!
