FYI since the update, the forum has been noticeably slower. It often takes 15s or more to respond to a link click, etc.

Thanks. I didn’t see that. Forum software upgrades often go like this. One step forward, two steps back. I’m sure they’ll get it figured out though.

Yesterday was particularly bad and it was difficult to work on the site with the long loading times… He did some work on it last night and based on my own experience anyway it seems to be much better this morning.

Really slow, more than 10s to load each page, and I have 80 mbs download speed. Otherwise, I really like the new look!

The new site if more resource intensive then the old one and has been running slowly since I launched it. I have had my website developer tweaking the server and my hosting provider has also been trying to solve it but it looks like the site is straining the CPU of the server so it doesn’t look like it can be fixed with the current VPS server so I will be switching to a new VPS server with more capacity with a different host tomorrow (I’m not particularly happy with Hostgator anyway) and the slowness of the site should be resolved in the next few days.

Phoenix I’m not sure when you wrote that because I’m viewing the forum on my phone and can’t figure out how to get it to show me a date/time of a post. But for what it’s worth, it is 2:20 PM EDT on March 30 and it’s taking 25 to 30 seconds for each page to load.

The previous post was written at 2:06 AM this morning (5:06 EDT). I am also changing servers and hosting companies so the site should be running much more quickly by tomorrow (see the update here).

I can tell you that I felt a lot of stress suddenly draining when I got the email last night that the site had been transferred and when I checked it was working the way it was supposed to again. The site was only down for about an hour from start (backing up the old site) to finish (site transferred to a new host on a new server and DNS changed) so they did an amazing job with the transfer.
It was also interesting to see that the new DNS name servers had propagated to most of the world within minutes of changing the DNS settings and this part of switching a website to a new host is much faster than it used to be even a few years ago.
