Is there anyone here who can help us find the equivalent to our old original softside waveless waterbed? Or point us in the right direction, which is NOT a waterbed dealer-we have already been down that road.
For almost 25 years, without incident, with more than 20 moves, we slept on a Land & Sky Softside Waveless tethered lumbar super reinforced something or other. It had more than just corner tethers, & it had a system where when 1 person got in/out the water displacement equalized unlike the 2 different replacement bladders we tried, which would just create a hump on the other side. My husband did not bottom out on the original ever. It was 8 or 9" bladder.
We were told years back that Land & Sky closed & that they had a patented system that no one else uses.
We stopped looking after 2 replacement bladders that sucked.
My nightmare began when I had to replace that bed.
Never had the heat issues with a softside waterbed ever.
The issue we had when trying to replace was that dealer after dealer kept telling us their mattress was the same, that the tethers & components were unnecessary & that the foam sheets do a better job. This is NOT correct, nor true, the tethering system that Land & Sky (which was Somma previous) has a superior system. Surely someone purchased those patents & is doing something with them?
Help Please.
We’re going back to water-after a love/hate relationship & trying to make latex work.
We do love the feel of latex, but can’t take the heat. To get the relief we need, thicker layers are necessary, & it is thermodynamically a full heatsink that is a hot mess 4 hours into the night. I don’t want to argue that point. I’m tired of trying to make or find a hybrid.
Hubby & I had a long discussion of all of the things we have been forced to add over the years since we replaced that softside-we never needed multiple fans, nor an extra AC unit just for the bedroom. In the summer we unplugged the softside heater & the water absorbed the heat, we actually used blankets. There was no waking up sweating ever.
We used less AC in the summer, & turned the heat down in the winter, and it was DURABLE-we had shephers/danes/mastiffs & cats-never was a problem.
Thanks!
