Hi Boston_PA,
[quote]Was wondering if anyone has any information regarding the following:

The Spindle Abscond uses 3 x 3" layers of 100% natural continuous pour Dunlop with a wool quilted zip cover. You can choose the firmness of each of the layers and re-arrange the layers or exchange any one of them for a different firmness level after a purchase (see here). The complete description is here. For those who wish more detailed information yet then they are happy to provide it with an email or phone call.
The Brooklyn Bedding Total Latex mattress uses a 6" support core in your choice of either Talalay or Dunlop in different firmess levels and has a 3" layer of blended Talalay in the top layer with your choice of firmness. It has a cover that is quilted with wool and a thin layer of polyfoam. You can exchange the latex comfort layer for a different firmness level after a purchase (see here). The complete description is here (in each of the tabs). For those who wish more detailed information about this mattress then they are also happy to provide it with an email or phone call.
Both of them are members of the site which means I think highly of them and they both compete well with the best in the industry.
There is more about the different types and blends of latex in post #6 here but the choice between 100% natural Dunlop and blended Talalay would be a personal preference choice. There is also more about the differences in “feel” between Dunlop and Talalay in post #7 here but the best way to know which one you may prefer is with your own personal testing and experience.
There is more about the most important parts of the “value” of a mattress purchase in post #13 here that may also be helpful.
When you are down to finalists that are choices between “good and good” and there are no clear winners between them then your final choice (see post #2 here) would come down to all the objective, subjective, and intangible parts of your personal value equation that are most important to you.
You are in the enviable position that both of your final choices are great quality/value and I personally wouldn’t hesitate to buy either of them but you are the only one that can decide which one is “best for you” regardless of whether anyone else would make the same choice.

I just ordered the Brooklyn Bedding Total Latex 10" last night and asked them to hold off on delivery because I have to finish painting my bedroom before I can setup the new mattress. Once I have a better idea of when I will be done with the paint and trim work I will call to schedule the delivery. I wanted to get the order in because they have $200 off $1699 or more for Labor day but it looks like they have extended that sale till the 6th I believe.
I ordered it in level 7 with the Talalay in bottom layer because I am a side sleeper and my current mattress causes me to have shoulder/hip pain and my arm sometimes falls asleep.
My intention was to get the Aloe Alexis, for some reason I had it in my head that I did not want a mattress that is all latex. But after talking with BB and reading some of Phoenix’s comments I decided to go all latex. Hopefully I made the right choice but if not they have their comfort layer exchange and if that fails then I can still return the mattress but have to pay shipping fee. Pretty good policy and not unreasonable, so that is comforting.
Hi Raistlin,
Congratulations on your new mattress
As you know I think you made a great choice and as you also mentioned you also have good options available after your purchase as well.
I’m looking forward to your feedback once you’ve finished your painting project and have had the mattress delivered.
