Pricing out various options, and I see some places allow for customization of the top layer of the bed in hybrid latex mattresses. I’ve considered a topper for just my size, but for cal king my main option is twin XL which is a little wide and short. Does anyone make a half cal king topper, or does anyone make a separate topper/comfort level where you can have it be half medium and half plush inside, etc? Since I am lighter and prefer softer, and my husband is heavier and prefers a more firm mattress. Whatever we get might feel firm to me and soft to him.

I am quite certain someone like @sleepez or @Arizona_Premium could custom cut a topper for your needs. A couple of summers ago, one of my coworkers purchased a beautiful mattress from @ShovlinMattress in an Olympic Queen sized mattress. While she and her husband love the mattress, she felt it was initially too firm. Sleepez custom crafted a latex topper specifically for their size mattress which you cant easily find without customization.
Another option is @HelixSleep makes a dual sided topper in california king, where it has a plush side and a firmer side. Helix offers some great options in the topper category. So, do not despair, there are some ready available options out there.
