Spring Air Back Supporter Mystic

I went shopping for a new mattress in Connecticut last evening. After trying a DreamCloud, Nectar and a Sealy, the sales agent, who appeared to be exceptionally knowledgeable, directed me to a Spring Air Back Supporter mattress. It’s called Mystic, and has a medium-firm feel. I liked the way it feels, and the agent said it provides excellent back support. I suffer from lower back pain, and neck pain. I am a side and back sleeper. The only issues is that it costs $1650.00, which is more than I wanted to pay.
Does anyone know anything about this mattress? I never heard of it before last night, but this store sells their entire line. She said that it’s the mattress she herself bought. I am interested in quality, durability, and if it’s worth that prices. Thank you.
Here is the mattress in question:

Hi Donato,
Welcome to the Mattress UnderGround.

The sales agent deserves applaud for steering you clear from DreamCloud and Nectar. They are simply not worthy of being part of the conversation. Resident Home their parent company is basically a marketing company selling mattresses.

I tried to find some information on the Spring Air Back Supporter Mattress, but as I expected there was very little information that TMU recommends knowing in order to make a competent mattress purchase. One feature that stands out is their foam encased spring support. Rather than go into a long detailed explanation, this educational video highlights the various edge supports in a mattress and since my theory on edge support aligns with those offered by the brothers in the video, I think it speaks for itself.

Considering your budget concerns and the need for a supportive mattress that can accommodate your side and back sleeping, one mattress that comes to mind is the DLX Classic 12"

From a cost perspective, the edge certainly favors the DLX in either the 12" or the sightly cushier 14’ when factoring in the TMU additional discount. The main differences lie in the design and construction features. Your interest in quality and durablity speaks volumes an again based on available information, the DLX is not shy about sharing every detail of their mattresses. The classic hybrid mattress features an edge-to-edge coil design and a two-sided build, reminiscent of older mattresses known for their exceptional durability, often lasting more than twice as long as most modern mattresses. Another important aspect is transparency. DLX, like all Trusted Members at TMU, is required to be transparent about the materials and construction used. This transparency helps shoppers compare mattresses, aiding their search and ensuring predictability and longevity.

Regarding the salesperson. She was wise to circumvent the Dreamcloud and Nectar, whether she sleeps on the Spring Air or not is somewhat irrelevant. How tall is she, how much does she weigh, what is her sleep position. How does that match up with your body profile. All of these questions and more are required to determine if what she sleeps on is relevant to what you might be comfortable with.

What is known about the foams, springs and construction of the Classic Hybrid (is basically everything about its construction, material and design) is that they utilize foam densities of 1.8lbs with a superior spring support layer designed to be supportive enough for even plus sized sleepers.

Another option is Engineered Sleep Classic Mattress. This mattress along may not check all of your boxes as it leans medium-firm. Represented by its lower cost, the addition of a quality topper, in combination may lead you to a mattress that presents superior support and side sleeping comfort.

The reality is there are numerous mattresses available in the 900-1400 range that will check all the boxes of longevity, durability, and comfort preferences without the challenge of a DIY.

As you read through the TMU tutorials you will find the suggestions on searching for a quality mattress.

By highlighting just two mattresses from TMU Trusted Members, we aim to present top-quality options that align with your preferences, even without knowing all the specific details of your body profile.

In the end, the best mattress, crafted from premium materials and construction, is only ideal if it meets the comfort preferences of an individual or couple.

As someone who ultimately made a mattress purchase on specs, even if you decide to purchase a mattress based on specifications, it is crucial to consider the company’s trial period, return, and exchange policies. This ensures that if you do make a purchase based on specs, you work closely with the company. Allow them to professionally assess your PPP (Personal Preferences, Posture and Alignment concerns, and Pressure Relief issues) to help you choose the perfect mattress.

Hopefully, this will offer some food for thought.
