I came across the Macy’s King Koil line and really liked what I tried in-store. I’m a stomach sleeper and prefer firm mattresses. Since my baby will be sleeping with me at times, my biggest concern is fiberglass and chemicals.
These were the two options I loved in the store, and this is the reply I got from the rep (see below). What are your thoughts? What is safeguard fibers any info?
Is there any major drawback in quality?

It was nice meeting you & your family. I will try to give you the breakdown of the 2 King Koil Models you looked at:
Heritage Xtra Firm - (12.5”) & Iris Firm (14”) - both have the same support system: 8” 1005 coil count, 13 ¾ gauge encased coil system with an HD base foam around the perimeter of the mattress. The box spring options are 9” or 5”.
The Heritage Xtra Firm - both the fabric & quilting layers: organic cotton panel, silk/wool/blend, safeguard fibers., extra firm HD performance foam. Comfort layer added: sustain memory foam (pressure relief foam).
The Iris firm - is slightly thicker so more layering & because of this it has tailormade tufting (handcrafted for durability, extends the life of the mattress) fabric & quilting layers: organic cotton panel, New Zealand Joma wool, safeguard fibers, tufting. Comfort layers: sustain memory foam & a natural cotton panel.
Regarding: the mattresses meet federal fire safety requirements.
In the USA, King Koil mattresses must comply with fire safety regulations. My rep. confirmed that this is done using a natural fiber that is naturally flame retardant and is woven into the cover “ticking”, no chemicals.
Also, one of the best things about our King Koil collection - is their Third-Party Certifications that they go through and use but are not necessarily required, I included an attachment for you to read the specifics.
