I recently bought a mattress from Sterling. It is being delivered tomorrow.
Mike the owner was awesome to work with. I am an engineer and after reading this site, I bombarded Mike with so many questions, what if’s, and comparisons that I am surprised he didn’t say that one mattress sale wasn’t worth it and tell me to stop calling. Seriously, probably like 6 15-40 minute phone calls over the past month. Mike (and to an extent, his staff) was willing to talk through the options, let me know any specification or material quality I asked for and in the when my wife and I eventually got down to his store and laid on a bed, he even changed out the comfort layer on a bed for us right there in the shop till we found exactly what we wanted.
If you are curious, we got a 2025 pocket coil (4 turn tempered - called Quantum) foam encased support layer with 2" 5lb density memory foam and 1" 1.8polyfoam in a zippered comfort layer that also had a 1" polyfoam in the ticking. Comes with 10 year full warranty that covers usual defects and any impression over 1.5". With delivery and a frame and the foundation and a free cover it came out to 1660 dollars.
They had a nice show room with lots of different beds, including latex and many different support cores. They offer 12 months 0% financing (with approval). And all in all, I would definitely suggest my friends go to them (but not before going to this website).
He said he was happy that I was so well educated on my mattress lingo and materials and said few people ever get that involved in it.
Thanks also to Phoenix and this site as it helped me get a great deal on a great bed. Since I have bought this I have had many friends complain about their bed after only 1-2 years and the price they paid for it.
