Suggested 3” foam base?

Hello again,
Hopefully the last piece to putting together our dream mattress system is finding a 3" foam base to go on top of an adjustable platform. My husband and I settled on different twin xl mattresses. His is a 10" foam and I settled on a 13" hybrid. So the issue now is how to raise his mattress by 3" so we are on the same level. Since we have an adjustable base, I would think that we need a fairly firm piece of foam but one that is flexible enough for the adjustable base.

Any recommendations? I tried a google search for that and looking on this forum but couldn’t find that exact issue, and got pretty confused about the type of foam that might work for this use. Since I did not keep the first mattress we tried due to offgassing issues that lasted months, something with low odor or certifications ( certipur or Greenguard) would be helpful.

Thank you!

A common base foam mattress companies use under an innerspring unit is1"-1.5" of a higher ILD polyfoam, like a 55 ILD. Density is usually more basic, along 1.5#. You certainly could go with something a little better, like 1.8-2.0# of a similar ILD, CertiPUR-US certified, but you might need to laminate two thinner layers together to get to the 3" you desire. Even with a stiffer foam at a 55ILD, at 3" this will change the feel of the mattress you’re attempting to raise.

Is there an option from your adjustable bed base company for different height legs for one of the bases (assuming you have wo separate twin XL bases)? That would be preferable to changing the feel of your mattress.
