That makes sense. Motion isolation is also tricky because as you know, if you are sleeping on a surface that is uncomfortable and not the right setup, you are already in a restless state of movement, tossing and turning (same goes for your spouse). Find the correct sleep setup and you’ve now eliminated most of that movement…we have a talalay topper on our avocado eco now and the motion isolation isn’t what keeps us up but it’s the tossing and turning some nights with trying to get comfortable. So this setup is tolerable (we aren’t in pain or anything) but it feels like we could do better!
Definitely and thanks for clarifying that. If the mattress causes you to toss and turn more because you can’t get comfortable then it’s likely contributing to the motion transfer.
I also missed the part about the Original Mattress Factory bed that’s 20 years old. It might be worth visiting their store to see if they can match that model or at least offer something similar. I can’t speak for them, but based on what I recall, their designs haven’t changed much in the past 20 years so they may have something comparable.
