Thank you

I bought a natural organic latex matress and a bed frame for it yesterday. your site was very helpful. I learned about “The Bedworks of Maine” in Brewer where i bought my bed and “The Portland Mattress Makers” in Portland where i bought my mattress lon this site. So in each case i went directly to the manufacurer and each was a small family owned business. Again i learned to do this on your site.

Now i have information to share. Both of these companies were wonderful to work with. They had a wide range of all sorts of mattress, knowledgeable sales people and customer friendly policies. I am 77 yrs old and wanted my bed to be a little higher than it would have been with just a matress. I didn’t need to buy the platform because the slates in my bedframe were made to support it. They are making the legs on the bed longer at no extra cost. The Mattress Maker also has wonderful consumer policies. They have a 30 sleep on it policy during which you can exchange your mattress at no cost and they have a good warrantee with free pick up and delivery. Each of these manufactures deliver and set up what they bring and will help you remove or reposition what you have.

I had a very different experience with “The Clean Bedroom.”. They all all over the internet, so i had no trouble finding them. They had the largest selection of natural, organic latex mattresses and other bedding products and a very nice and knowledgeable sales person, but very poor consumer policies. They had no return policy and no Warantees. I was told that they had showrooms so you could try the bed so that no return policy was necessary, but these mattresses are for most peipe a BIG PURCHASE and it is very different to sleep on a bed for a few days and to roll around on it in a showroom for a few minutes. You would have to deal directly with the manifacturer on Warantees and again it is very different to deal with a local manifacuter who has consumer satisfaction as their goal than a distand manafacturer with an unknown consumer policy. They had a delivery charge 2-4 times higher than the companies I bought from.

Thanks again for your help. I hope my comments help others on your site.

Hi Bjmwsons,

Thanks for sharing your experiences and feedback … I appreciate it!

Just for the sake of clarity … their mattresses do have a warranty but as you mentioned later in your comments you would need to deal with the manufacturer who provides it. A return or exchange policy can also be an important part of a mattress purchase for some people so it’s good to see you took this into consideration as well although with stores who offer a return or exchange policy it’s also built into the price and the customers who don’t return or exchange a mattress pay the costs involved for the ones who do.

I think you made some great choices … and congratulations on your new mattress and bed

I hope you have the chance to share your thoughts and feedback once you’ve had the chance to sleep on them for a bit.

I did not mention that the mattress was on sale, so it was a great price, as low as I could hae gotten on lie and the customized bed was also a very good buy.

I will let you knw hw they worked out when I get them in six weeks.
