First I want to thank you and the members for the great information on the site. I had been looking for mattress for the last few weeks and was feeling so overwhelmed. The articles and the links you post in the answers made it easy to research. After reviewing and testing out a number of stores, I decided to go out one last time and visit Parklane Clackamas.
Vincent was wonderful. Taking time and actually leaving me alone on the mattresses until I would sit up or give an indication I was ready to ask a question. He was very knowledgeable and offered suggestions to help me confirm I was getting the right mattress for me.
Unlike other stores I visited he didn’t try to make a sale before I walked out the door. In fact, he wrote down the information and encouraged me to come back with my own pillows to make sure the bed was perfect. What a breath of fresh air.
Our new mattress arrives on Tuesday and I will share our results. Again, thanks for this great source of information and by mentioning the site I got a free pillow valued at $47.

As you’re aware, Parklane is a member here and I think highly of them. You certainly made a good quality/value choice, and I’m glad you had a pleasant shopping experience.
I’m looking forward to learning about your experience with your new mattress once you’ve received it after Tuesday and have had a chance to use it for a while.
Our mattress arrived on Tuesday. They contacted us on Saturday with a 2 hour window for delivery and then called about 25 minutes prior to arriving. They were very efficient with setting up the bed. (We donated our old mattress to a family member so didn’t experience the take away service.)
We allowed the mattress to air out for about 8 hours before putting bedding on. My son says there was an odor when it first arrived but it was gone when I arrived home about 5 hours later.
The mattress was a little firmer then what I experienced in the store but I was prepared for that by Vincent the salesman. Have to say I had the best nights sleep I have had in awhile and woke with no hip pain. The first time in a very long time.
The mattress appears to be very well constructed no loose threads or crooked seams. I encased the mattress in a allergy free cover and we use a mattress pad. I believe the mattress sleeps a little warmer than our last mattress as I am not cold which is unusual, however, my husband doesn’t complain about being warm.
So far we are very happy with our purchase. We have a 21 day break in period and a 90 day exchange. I will update how it goes later.

You are correct that your new mattress will generally feel firmer than the floor model, not only because it was just manufactured but also because you are using an encasement, mattress pad and fitted sheet. I’m glad that Vincent at Parklane brought that up to you to manage your expectations.
