To ask for a prescription to buy a mattress. lol

I got the weird look from both the nurse and the doctor. He even went to his computer and did a quick google search to confirm. And he was asking all sorts of questions before writing me one.

So after all this search, I think I will go for a certified organic cotton mattress from Royal-Pedic.

Still not sure but at least I now have options instead of just latex.

I imagine there aren’t many doctors that are familiar with writing prescriptions for a fire retardant free mattress although there are many alternative health care providers (chiropractors, naturopaths etc) that write them on a much more regular basis.

The Royal-Pedic is certainly a high quality mattress with no weak links in the design although I would make sure you test it in person to make sure that it’s a good match for you in terms of PPP because these types of mattresses are generally in a firmer range. It’s also in a a higher budget range than some other similar mattresses so just in case you want some additional innerspring/natural fiber options to make some comparisons there are a few more listed in post #4 here.
