I am looking for a softer bouncy alternative to latex that is soft. Does anyone have experience with either or both of these for comparison?
Hi Avery0001, Welcome to the Mattress UnderGround!
Briefly, here is my take on Titan foam and Serene foam to help with your decision.
- TitanFlex Foam: This is a proprietary foam generally used in hybrid mattresses and toppers, known for providing both support and pressure relief. It’s typically firmer than other foams, thus the “titan” name plate. Other “titan” nameplates used by 3z brands which usually represents a firmer sleep environment, but it still offers some bounce. However, it may not be as “soft” as some other alternatives like memory foam or Serene foam. If you’re looking for something bouncy but with a firmer feel, Titan foam could be a good fit.
- Serene Foam: This foam is generally known for offering a softer, more plush feel compared to Titan foam, while still providing some bounce. It has a resilient, responsive quality, and many people find it quite comfortable for a softer sleep surface. It’s also more breathable than some other foams, which helps with cooling.
**Ultimate Decision Thought Process:
- If you want a softer, bouncy feel, Serene foam is likely your best option. It’s softer and more plush compared to Titan foam.
- Titan foam is typically firmer with a more supportive structure, so it might not give you the softness you’re looking for.
Malouf ActiveDough Topper This topper combines a combination of a latex alternative that is a soft and bouncy material, combined with a memory foam.
- Pure infusion can promote deeper and more restorative sleep
- 1.5 inches of soft ActiveDough™ foam provide active support
- 1-inch layer of coddling memory foam offers pressure relief
- Woodsy aroma of clary sage creates a calming sleep atmosphere
I have actually had this topper on my bed for quite some time (about a year), until I switched to a 3" organic wool topper, and now, soon to be waiting for my Perfectly Snug Topper to arrive. I tend to like to try a variety of components so I can speak with first hand experience.
All three foams are a good choice for comfort, but Serene foam will likely give you the softer, bouncier feel you’re after, although the active dough with the memoryfoam (as it is only 1") side up is a great choice and it wont cause you to sink into a hot furnace, quicksand, cant move, feeling of a foam, like my Tempurpedic topper did!
All the best, hope this answers your question.
Maverick
Thanks so much for the great information. I can’t believe informative you are.
