Titan Plus Elite Vs. Arizona Hybrid vs. DLX

After some guidance from this group, my husband and I have narrowed it down to the following three options:

  1. Brooklyn Bedding Titan Plus Elite
  2. Arizona Premium Mattress King Ultimate Hybrid, split Talay with medium and extra firm (possibly a soft for me instead of a medium)
  3. DLX custom 14" with a premier hybrid soft for me and latex lux firm (possibly extra firm) for my husband.
    Our statistics:
Me- 230 and 5’6". I prefer a “luxury hotel soft” type bed but not a marshmallow that I have to hoist myself out of. I am a side and stomach sleeper.
My husband- 250 and 6’. He prefers a firm to extra firm. He is a stomach and sometimes back sleeper.
We also have an 80 lb dog who sneaks into bed and two young kids who also make their way in sometimes.

We’ve read all the forums and I’ve talked to the companies and yet we are still torn and can’t make a decision lol My husband is leaning towards Arizona given the value/price point. I’m leaning towards the DLX given I think It may suit our needs best. We were hoping to stay $2500 or lower, knowing we’ll need to invest in a better quality foundation/bed frame soon.

Any thoughts or guidance or opinions or other options to look into to help us make a decision would be greatly appreciated. I went down the rabbit hole of the Internet and my brain is spinning lol

Hi Mandy1022!

All three of the brands you’ve narrowed down to are ones we believe in here, and none of them are poor choices. You’re just sorting out which version of good lines up best with how both of you sleep.

Given your stats and preferences, here’s how I’d look at them:

Brooklyn Bedding Titan Plus Elite
This is the “simplest” option and very friendly for higher-BMI sleepers. It’s strong, durable, great for motion isolation and edge support, and tends to do really well for couples who need sturdier support systems (kids and dogs included). It won’t be as customizable long-term as the other two, but it’s a very solid, no-drama choice.

Arizona Premium Mattress – split Talalay hybrid
Your husband’s leaning here makes sense. It’s excellent value for the quality, and the fact that you can customize each side with different firmnesses gives you both more control over getting your feels right. If you’re in the “luxury-soft-but-not-stuck” lane, Talalay is usually a lovely match. This setup is also easier to tweak down the line by swapping a layer instead of replacing the entire mattress.

DLX 14"
You gravitating toward this also makes perfect sense. DLX tends to bring that more refined, nuanced “hotel luxury” comfort feel you’re craving, while still giving you firmness options for your husband. Their hybrids, especially when you customize soft/firm combos, tend to land in that sweet spot where pressure relief and support meet without feeling overly mushy.

From the outside looking in, you’re not weighing “good vs risky.” You’re really just picking which path matches:

• how much adjustability you want
• how plush you want the surface to feel on your side
• how committed you are to long-term layer swapping
• where your budget is most comfortable landing

If the budget is strict-stict, Arizona is hard to beat for the amount of mattress you’re getting. If feel and refinement are top priority for you, DLX may get closest to that hotel-soft comfort without the marshmallow issue. If you want the tank-like durability and simplicity, Titan Plus Elite is the no-nonsense option.

Thank you so much! This is absolutely spot on with how we are thinking. I like the idea of customizing and being able to swap out layers, knowing our sleep patterns and likes/dislikes will change over time. Our current memory foam mattress, which I hate, is just too firm for me and I’m waking up in pain all the time.

Given our stats, do you think the Arizona will hold up to plus size sleepers and dogs/kids?

I agree with reaching out to @Arizona_Premium directly with specific questions, but with the right build, your mattress should hold up pretty well, even with the chaos of kids and pets.

Best of luck with your choice. Great mattress. You would likely not have gone wrong with either.
