We purchased a king size Octaspring 6500 in October,Absolutely loved it …it has since formed a hump in the middle of the mattress.
We have called our place of purchase…still waiting to hear…any idea why this happened?? Thanks so much!!
Hi BEE,
There could be many reasons for this ranging from layers shifting, lower quality layers that have developed impressions or soft spots under the areas where you normally sleep, defective materials, damage to the mattress from moving, storage, or misuse, or it could be connected to the support system under your mattress which may have some flex on either side but a ridge in the middle (such as with two twin XL foundations that are normally used for a king size mattress where the rigid edges of each foundation meet under the middle of your mattress but which may have some flex on each side).
To some degree this will happen with any mattress where you don’t sleep in the middle (especially larger sizes) where some parts of the mattress wear or soften faster than the others so it’s also a matter of degree.
If there is more than just a “slight” hump in the middle and the impressions on each side are deeper than the warranty exclusion then you may also have a valid warranty claim.
