Topper shootout!

Originally I was gonna go for the LaNoodle topper from CozyPure (https://cozypure.com/product/lanoodle-cozytop-latex-topper-best-seller/) but it seems they’ve been out of stock for some time. Since the labor day sales end soon, I figure I could go with a second choice. With that said, here’s some of the ones im looking at:

  1. https://helixsleep.com/products/cool-mattress-topper

  2. https://sleepez.com/product/box-stitched-latex-topper/

  3. https://brooklynbedding.com/products/copperflex-401

  4. Graphite Memory Foam Mattress Topper | Saatva

  5. Smart Bed Mattress Toppers | Personal Comfort

In terms of preference, definitely want something on the softer side. What’s the community think?

I haven’t tried any of those. But I have to say, of those options, I’d go for the Sleep EZ box-stitched latex option. I actually did look at it - it’s a good price for what looks like a wonderful topper! But I needed twinXL, and it seems to only come in queen and king sizes. Pity. The main reason I’d try the latex from Sleep EZ is that I sleep super hot. Like, I’m pretty sure I have magma in place of blood running through my veins. Memory foam is more or less kryptonite to me. Even if it claims to be “cooling” - it lies. (Long explanation short, materials like memory foam can absorb heat from your body, leading to an initial cooling sensation, but eventually get “full” of your body heat. Since they don’t breathe, there’s nowhere for that built-up heat to go, so you end up surrounded by your own reflected body heat. Ugh.) So I’d be beyond miserable on any of the others. YMMV.

I can relate to blood magma lol. I’ve been able to knock a bunch off the list after some research. The BB topper is based on a bed thats medium-firm so that one is out. The ones from that last link are all 2” when the others are about 3-4” respectively, so those are out. So its either the Saatva, Helix, or SleepEZ.

A note: the Saatva and the Helix ones, while on a bunch of popular lists, are also on a bunch of popular lists. Not sure if it attests to the quality of the product, or if its just affiliate marketing shenanigans.

Yeahhhhh… Really hard to tell sometimes. I’ve had good luck overall buying things recommended by Wirecutter, for example. But I also do my own due diligence, as best as I can, to make sure what I’m choosing is legit. You never really know why a particular item is chosen for those lists…
