Twin XL Sleep Number I8 Sleeping Hot

I am in the trial period for my I8 twin XL sleep number, and I often sweat in my sleep.
My salesman suggested purchasing the True Temp cooling mattress topper which I’ll try out.
Otherwise, I’m also considering Airpedic mattress, which can include Airflow, for an extra charge. I’m also interested in separate adjustments for neck, lumbar, and feet that Airpedic offers.

Any suggestions?

Hey Lme2009.

Welcome to our Mattress Forum.

With the Sleep Number i8, the True Temp topper might help a bit with the sweating, but toppers can only do so much if the underlying mattress materials are still holding heat or if there’s something else creating a heat-retaining microclimate on your mattress (sheets, bedding, lack of airflow in the room, etc). The Airpedic does give you extra airflow options and the zoning for lumbar, neck, and feet can be helpful if you like having more targeted adjustability.

Since you’re already in the adjustable-air category, I’d also suggest taking a look at Personal Comfort. They’re one of the vetted brands here on TMU, and many people find their build quality and flexibility to be a good alternative to Sleep Number or Airpedic. Might be worth exploring while you’re comparing, especially if you want something that balances adjustability with transparency about the components.
