Ultimate Dreams Latex mattress

After reading pretty much everything on this forum – a special thanks to Phoenix who has been extremely helpful – my husband and I decided to replace our Beautyrest with the Ultimate Dreams Latex Mattress level 4, which according to Chuck is a 32 ILD. We are anxiously awaiting this mattress and will offer our review as soon as we get a good feel for it. Meanwhile, here are our stats:
He is 5’11" and 170 lbs and a stomach sleeper, who I might add always hated the Beautyrest.
I am 5’8" and 140 lbs and a back sleeper, who recently suffered two herniated disks along the lower back.
Our 17 month old, who sometimes wanders into the bed with us, is 33" and 26 lbs.

Currently, all we have to say is that Chuck is definitely proud of his products, accessible, professional, and knowledgeable. What we most enjoyed is his laid-back approach; we never felt any pressure to buy his products. We asked for clarification on the difference between the Bamboo Bliss from BB and the Ultimate Dreams, and he did not push the most expensive choice, rather, he simply listed the differences and benefits of each, and even finished with the assertion that “[t]he Ultimate Dreams and Bamboo Bliss are both tremendous beds.” We feel that Chuck is honest and that his information is reliable; overall, this is a welcomed change from the pushiness of the major chains/stores we visited.

Ultimate Dreams review forthcoming…

Hi bcrabrer1,

Thanks for the great feedback and for taking the time to share your experiences with Brooklyn Bedding.

You certainly made a good choice and I’m looking forward to your feedback when you have the chance to sleep on it.

Most of all … congratulations on your new mattress

Phoenix

I recently had a good experience with BB as well, at least so far. I did all my research here and asked a few questions (like you I want to thank Phoenix for all his help) and decided I would go with BB, although I think any of the “underground” members would rank as among the best mattress sellers and manufacturers in the country. My contacts with them were by email and the sales rep, Jacob, was very helpful and answered all my questions promptly. He also gave me a discount code to use just for being a member of this forum.

At first I also thought the Ultimate Dreams mattress would fit my needs. It had 258 reviews on Amazon alone and achieved a 4.5 star rating, which is very good and rare for any product with that many reviews. But I realized that I needed to go a bit further with my research because what is comfortable for one person may not be for another, no matter what individual reviewers say. What I was certain of was that BB made quality products with good materials and workmanship.

After going back and forth with Jacob, I finally decided instead on the 10" all latex mattress with a number “5” firmness. In fact, I just received the tracking information and it should be delivered May 30th, which is a very quick one week turn around. I feel good about the purchase and I am confident I will be comfortable on this mattress, however, if I am not, I can have them send me different comfort layers until I get it right. To me that is a huge plus for an internet purchase and one of the main reasons I went with this particular mattress.

You always take a chance buying off the internet but Brooklyn Bedding (who I assumed was out of NY until I learned from the tracking sheet that they are actually in AZ) has an excellent reputation, quality products, fair prices, very knowledgeable employees and good customer service. I can’t say all that about a single store I went to locally.

Hi milacqua,

Thanks for sharing your experiences with Brooklyn Bedding.

It sounds to me like you did some good research and made a great choice an I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback once you’ve received it.

Congratulations on your new mattress.
