Thinking ahead I want plenty of time to research a replacement mattress for my current mattress.
I love my mattress and it’s wearing wonderfully but I don’t want to have to be in a time crunch when the time comes
I bought it in an independent store in Los Angeles which seems to have gone out of business and the mattress itself was made by a local manufacturer in the Los Angeles vicinity.
Unfortunately the store has gone out of business and although I tried contacting the owner, haven’t got a response so evidently his plans to set up a new store in a different location didn’t come to fruition.
When I looked at my purchase for some years ago it said it was Weston Hills Mastercraft but when I google that brand and name nothing comes up.
It is what I think is a latex hybrid as its wear layer is high density foam and its comfort layer is latex. It feels like sleeping on a supportive cloud.
When I google latex hybrid the construction seems to be coils which I don’t want.
I had thought about pure latex but honestly that is just to heavy in weight for me to deal with and the one I have now is great and light enough so that I can turn it as necessary.
Any suggestions as to where I could find a mattress with this kind of construction.
Cost is really not an issue as I am willing to spend what is necessary for quality - obviously within reason as I am not in the market for a $20,000 mattress but anything in the $2000 to $5000 range is fine.

Hey amarante.
Just to clarify, is the comfort layer latex and the base layer a foam as well?
Or is there a coil component as well? I have a few ideas of mattresses that you may like, I just want to make sure you’re looking for something with coils

Thanks for responding
My current mattress which I like very much is constructed with the following
No coils
High density foam is the “wear layer”
Latex is the comfort layer
There is a top layer of merino wool for temperature regulation
And obviously there is some kind of cotton covering all of it.
I had considered all latex but it is just too heavy and this configuration seems to have been perfect for my needs.
I use my mattress with an adjustable bed frame and so I thought coils might not be the best way to go.
I hate the feel of Temperpedic - not sure if that is relevant.
And I am willing to spend what is necessary for a quality mattress. The one I currently like was $2000 prior to the pandemic but the small store I bought it from has gone out of business after 40 years - I suspect the owner just retired.
The invoice for my current mattress reads Weston Hills Mastercraft but as this was a small local manufacturer I have had no luck tracing down the manufacturer in Los Angeles where I am located.
When I bought the mattress it came in soft, firm and medium and I opted for medium.
Any leads would be helpful because all I am finding when I google are all latex; memory foam or coils with latex comfort layer or top layer

I’m just curious why the weight of an all latex mattress is a concern. You shouldn’t need to “turn the mattress” as you say. I’ve had an all latex mattress for a decade and haven’t done that. If needed, it’s not difficult to unzip the mattress cover and rotate the individual layers. You would just flip for example by rolling up a layer and unrolling it the other way. I’ve done that. I’ve also rearranged the layers to bring a firmer layer from the middle to the top. Just, FYI. Good luck.
