What to do with Spare Naturepedic Coils?

Hi everyone, I haven’t been on here for awhile. Thanks to your help, I landed on the Naturepedic PT. I started with the plush coils, but felt they might have been a teensy bit soft. Naturepedic sent me the firm coils and I think I am set. But they told me to keep the plush coils. Any suggestions of what to do with them? They are sitting in my guest bedroom. I don’t want to just throw them in the trash, but I don’t have space for them. Thanks!

Buy another layer of latex, and a base layer, and cover and make another mattress for a friend or relative.

Where would I go about finding those items? Also, what is a base layer?

A base layer is usually a 1/2 to 2" (1" is fine) placed under the coils to stabilize the mattress and coils (easiest way to describe it). .A base layer is not an absolutely necessary layer for all mattresses, but it can be used as a mattress stablizer preventing the coils from wearing through the cover.

Layer 5 in this example is a flexible base layer, should the user want to use an adjustable base too.

@Arizona_Premium, @Latex_Mattress_Fact1 are a couple of manufacturers where you can purchase a latex comfort layer for above the coils and a mattress cover, to make your own mattress. I am quite certain if you contact either one of them they can walk you through the process and guide you as to which firmness of latex to use for an all around universal sleep experience. Hotels usually use medium-firm mattresses to accommodate most sleepers. You could create something similar.
This is a pic of a latex mattress factory mattress. Very simple design. Base Layer, spring layer and latex comfort layer.
