What's one thing you wish you'd known before buying your current mattress?

The more time I spend reading through discussions here, the more I realize that a lot of people don’t necessarily regret which mattress they bought, they regret something they didn’t know beforehand. Sometimes it’s realizing that a mattress which felt perfect in the showroom was completely different after a few weeks at home. Other times it’s discovering that things like the foundation, comfort layers, sleeping position, or even body type mattered much more than expected. Looking back, what’s the biggest lesson your current or previous mattress taught you? Is there anything you wish someone had told you before you bought it?

If one has replaced their mattress multiple times in the last few years, it is time for the buyer to educate oneself on how mattresses are made, what materials they consist of. Also invest more in getting the proper foundation or bed frame. Stop buying those stupid metal frames from Amazon. Bad foundations destroy mattresses faster.

If one has medical conditions, please seek medical help first. Stop solving medical problems with a mattress. Medical help, followed by a correct mattress.

Also learn few things about sleeping habits? Side, back, stomach, a combo sleeper. Hot sleeper/cold sleeper. Do you live in a humid environment or not?
