I’m reposting this. not sure if it shows up everywhere or just on your screen. I’m trying to find a mattress that is like the ones they used to make years ago. I would describe it as thin (9-11 inches) Innerspring with a pillow top or even without a pillow top and without any memory foam or latex. The ones they make now are too heavy and too thick for me to lift… I had thought of buying from a company in massachusetts but then read several poor reviews where people sent money and never received the product and had trouble even getting a call back. I bought one from mattress firm and exchanged the maximum amount of times and ended up with one that after less than a year has a dent from where I sleep and I weigh less than 100 lbs. I just had surgery and am incredibly uncomfortable. I’m really desperate for relief and would so appreciate any recommendations. I live in NY if that helps at all.
I just spent the last several hours reading the various articles the most recent of which is entitled “mattress support cores-innersprings”. In the paragraph just below the video “beducation”, I’m not clear what “them” is referring to in the last sentence “all other factors being equal, this gives “them” greater firmness”.
Does “them” mean the pocket coils?
I’m in a lot of pain and unfortunately am limited in my ability to go out mattress shopping and also have a lot of trouble with the computer. I understand no one can tell me exactly what to buy but if someone could even tell me what on line website would be the most appropriate given the limited information I am able to provide I would be so grateful. Again, I live in NY weigh 100 lbs and sleep on my side.
If it’s at all helpful, the one I bought that is way too soft and in less than a year has a dent where I sleep was called Simmons Beautyrest Recharge Hartfield 11.5" Luxury Firm Mattress
Hi marzee,
I am sorry you are having a difficult time finding the right mattress. First let me explain what this paragraph is referring to:
The them they are referring to is the Bonnell, continuous coils, and offset coils, not the “pocketed coils”. These type of mattresses would be firmer, similar to what you once purchased.
This link here is a list of our trusted members that sell innerspring and hybrid mattresses.
Here are a few links of four companies that are in the northeast USA and you can check out their products they can most likely make/sell what you need.

Hey Phoenix, it seems adding to a closely related existing post is how I’m to communicate, so here I am!
I’ve done a ton of research and lurked quite a while, so I feel prepared to discuss this with someone of your knowledge.
After moving out and having to leave my 20 year old Simmons beautyrest, I bought a Sealy posturepedic plus that developed a massive Hump in the middle and sagged quite a bit after 2/3 years.
We purchased a contour rhapsody luxe tempur pedic off eBay, but unfortunately it’s leaving me with hip, back, and shoulder pain, and I’m waking up drenched in sweat. (With my ac on 65)
So I want to move back to an innerspring mattress and I’m between a few options.
I’m in northern NJ, and have settled on buying from either Shovlin, Charles P Rogers, or nobull In cherry hill.
Here are the beds I’m looking at
The Trizone or Milan from Shovlin

This one I’m concerned may sag with foam layers and the inability to flip.
The Charles P Rogers bed seems quality as well, but doesn’t let you flip it.
I went to CPR today and tried all the beds, really like the estate 5000. Was nice and firm.
The bed has 0 foam in it.
Just wanted to be sure you know that there are two versions of the CPR Estate 5000, Firm (described as extra-firm) or Plush (more latex described as firm-medium). Looks like neither uses any non-latex foam which I think is what you meant by “0 foam”.
Yup! I liked the original more, I like how it’s close to an old pocket coil mattress feel.
Have yet to go to shovlin or no bull tho
On this same theme, I am sensitive to chemicals/odors so am looking for a mattress that has very low odour and low chemical emissions.
Likely this will be an innerspring mattress with cotton and no or a small amount of foam.
Latex proved to be a problem as I had to sell my all organic latex bed after 3 years as I became sensitive to it.
I also tried one memory foam mattress topper in a store and had a reaction and even though this was just one sample, I would prefer little or no memory foam.
Also no fire retardants, no exotics like Aloe, no anti-bacterial chemicals.
Any suggestions?
