Hi Phoenix ,
Can you tell what to use / where to buy some latex glue that’s non-toxic and water based to fix latex which was shipped to me with some tears.
When I received my Dunlop a piece had some packing tape on it. when I try to pull it it seems it would take with it a chunk of the foam, any ideas how to remove this without damaging the foam?
Thanks,
Dan
Hi passionate4nature,
Most local foam or fabric shops will carry non toxic glue that comes in a spray can that would work well.
I don’t know any specific methods for latex other than ways to remove tape from any material that will tear easily. I would go very slowly and use your finger to remove the foam from the tape one small section at a time instead of “pulling” the tape off the foam. As soon as the edge or the tape is free to fold the tape back on itself so you are peeling it off at a larger angle close to 135 degrees instead of “pulling” upwards.
A couple of other suggestions that may help would be to warm the tape first with a hair dryer to see if it makes the glue on the tape a little softer or to use a razor blade and lift the tape a little (just enough to create a little tension) and then use the razor blade or other sharp edge to carefully remove the foam (I haven’t tried it with tape but this would be similar to separating two layers of latex that have been glued together).
The main key is to remove the foam from the tape one small section at a time rather than removing the tape from the foam.
