Where to buy slats that are <=3" apart?

Hi, we just got a new platform bed for our new latex mattress. The slats are about 3.75" apart. (Not sure if relevant, but there are two “center” rails.) The mattress mfgr recommends (and requires for warranty) that the slats be no more than 3" apart.

Can someone recommend where to buy appropriately spaced slats? I googled and looked on Amazon, Walmart, etc. There are very few products that are stand-alone slats, and the products that I find don’t even advertise the spacing between the slats (which makes me think they’re very wide).

We can still return the platform bed, but we like it and we’d rather make the slats work. Advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi Lax_Esq,

These two immediately come to mind.

There are more out there, or you can just add individual slats.

Or you can buy additional slats and place between
Individual Slat Replacements

Hi Maverick. Thanks so much for the response. Both of those links are foundations, not just a row of slats. These platform beds aren’t meant for a foundation, and are meant for the mattress to just sit on the slats directly. Here are close-ups of what bed frame looks like:

If I add individual slats, how will they stay secure? The slats that came with our bed are “tied” together and have velcro around the perimeter to attach to the bed. If I just lay down individual slats, I’m afraid they’d just move around. Also, how would you assemble them? Should I bunch the current ones up closer and then just put additional slats at one end of the bed?

Sorry for all the questions, but I’m having a tough time figuring out how to make this work…

Look at the 3rd link

Staple a piece of double stick velcro to the slat and stick the other piece to the lip on the frame.Wood Slats

You could buy something like this and put it on top of your horizontal slats.
