First of all, thank you Phoenix for an incredibly informative site. I’ve spent countless hours reading much of the information here and have learned so much!
After visiting several shops and following your 5-steps-to-a-perfect-mattress advice, we found mattresses from Sherwood and Innomax that we liked. Probing with Urban Mattress in Denver about the construction of the Sherwood mattresses, we found that the Evo Sleep Harbor Luxury Firm ($899 for queen mattress only, http://www.urbanmattress.com/mattresses/evo-sleep/harbor-luxury-firm ) that we liked had 6" of a HD soy foam, then only 1" of taladay latex, topped with 3" of a lower density polyfoam, which leads me to worry about its durability given what I’ve read on your site about the durability of lower density polyfoam in the comfort layers. We also liked the step up in the Sherwood line, the Bio-Temp Ambiance Firm ($1399 for queen mattress only, Buying Your New Mattress is Easy at Urban Mattress). I was told it has a complicated construction of an ??-inch depth of soy foam, then an inch of taladay latex, then an inch of something that I forgot, then another inch of latex, and then the same low density of polyfoam on top. So, same concerns there about the lower density top layer’s durability. We haven’t ruled these out, but we decided to continue shopping.
This led us to Innomax’s factory store in Denver, who offers 3 different mattresses with partial or all-latex construction. We found that of the three, the Innopedic Latex (http://www.innomax.com/index2.php?crn=259 ), with its 3" taladay latex top layer and its support coil construction under that, provided the most linear back support for both of us, and was also the most comfortable for our different sleep positions. But at approximately $2150 for a mattress-only in queen size, it’s getting beyond what we had budgeted.
Info found deep on your site led us to understand that the American Sleep line of mattresses sold by Sam’s Club are clones of Innomax products. The pricing is significantly lower at Sam’s Club than what we were being quoted at Innomax’s factory store. I called the Sam’s Club American Sleep toll-free number. The Sam’s American Sleep toll-free info line routes to Innomax in Denver, and the guy who answered freely acknowledged he was with Innomax.
He said Sam’s two latex mattresses were the same as two of Innomax’s. I was told that Sam’s Organic Latex Mattress (http://www.samsclub.com/sams/american-sleep-organic-mattress-queen/prod865234.ip?navAction= ) is the same as the Innomax White Night - the 100% latex mattress that was the first one we tried (http://www.innomax.com/index2.php?crn=243 ) but found that we sunk in too deeply and didn’t get a linear back alignment on our sides.
He also told me that Sam’s Eco-Green Latex (http://www.samsclub.com/sams/american-sleep-eco-green-latex-mattress-queen/prod862203.ip?navAction= ) is the same as the Innomax Allura (http://www.innomax.com/index2.php?crn=229 ), which is the third Innomax mattress we tried, but which we found to be too hard and causing pressure pains on our hips when on our side.
Of course, Sam’s Club doesn’t carry a clone of the Innopedic Latex, which is the second one we tried that we liked the best. Sigh.
So, my long-winded question is, “Do you know any other places that are offering private label versions of Innomax products, where I might find a private label version of the Innomax Innopedic Latex at a more affordable price?”
