I am 6’4" and 210# and my wife is 5’4" and SIGNIFICANTLY lighter, and we recently purchased a king sized Snowmass from Denver Mattress. The bed isn’t as plush as my wife would like (she preferred the Aspen), but we thought the construction of the Snowmass better.
To make the bed more plush we have ordered a natural talalay topper from Foamsource in soft on her side (18-22 ILD) and medium on mine (28-32 ILD). We didn’t order a cover for the topper, and I am wondering if the discoloration of the latex over time will stain the mattress and void our warranty? Should we put a sheet between the topper and the mattress?
The discoloration of the latex won’t stain anything but it’s very important to make sure your latex has a good quality cover (not just sheets or a thin cover or mattress protector) because latex is quite susceptible to oxidation from exposure to air and light (ozone and ultraviolet in particular) and will oxidize and degrade much faster if it’s not covered which will significantly shorten its lifespan.
