Absence of Tufting - Issues

Hello

I love your DIY construct. I am considering a self assembled mattress composed of coil base with natural latex tops all zipped together in a cotton/wool cover. Wondering if you have any issues with your layers not having tufting? Do the layers feel shifty, loose, unstable? Thanks.

if you have a good fitting cover that holds everything in, it wont be an issue at all. there are several highly respectable mattress companies who build their mattresses with zippered covers and have no glue or tufting.

Loose fibers need tufting, as they tend to shift. If they are pressed into nice batting, tufting may not be necessary. Even better, if these battings are placed in between foam layers/insulator pad/dacron.

Thanks for the responses.
