All-latex vs. latex hybrid for heavy people

My partner and I both have a BMI of over 30. I’ve seen conflicting information about whether an all-latex or latex-hybrid mattress
would be our best best. We live in a remote area of Oregon, and have only a Savvy Rest store within reasonable driving distance
to try things out. As you doubtless know, that mfg. does not offer hybrids.

We are both a combo of side and back sleeper, and both have a history of back issues. Can you give any general advice?
I was pointed toward a latex hybrid for both “feel” and edge support, but was recently told by a reputable online seller that
it wouldn’t be a good choice.
Help?

Good questions and thank you for asking. Spring mattresses require reinforced edges because steel weakens over time. An all latex does not need that so the edges do feel softer but will hold up quite well over time. We’ve had tremendous success with both our hybrids and all latex designs. Back and stomach sleepers tend to like the hybrids better however side sleepers prefer an all latex design because it can conform to body curves better and thus better pressure relief in hip and shoulder areas. There is no right or wrong between the 2 the main thing is once you decide which one is best for you to give us a call to make sure you get the proper firmness choice.

Thanks, Ken. I’m still searching for a all-latex/latex hybrid store that’s within two hours’ drive of our Oregon coast home so we can
make an informed choice. So far, I’ve found only one, in Eugene. Does anyone know of other options for in-store visits?

That’s the only one I can find.
