We make RV mattresses mostly with 2lb high density foam or with 2.75lb high resilience foam. In your case I would suggest getting an HR (high resilience) foam because it will give you overall better support and wear. The thickness should be anywhere from 8" to 12" depending on the level of comfort you want and the space you have.
