Build Question (filler)

Quick background, we used to have a Sleep Nation Blake St Latex (don’t remember the exact name), it was the best mattress I’ve ever slept on. Unfortunately it was ruined in a move and SleepNation changed the Blake St to a foam one before going out of business. We currently have the foam one and it’s okay, too soft, hard to move around on, too hot, etc. neither of us wake up with any pain so that’s a blessing. I’ve been searching for a mattress that’s been like the old Blake St ever since.

We just placed an order for the 13” king organic latex and the adjustable base. I’m 6’3” 190lb back sleeper and my wife is 5’3” 120lb side sleeper. I ordered what the website suggested when putting in those numbers. Is the 13” overkill? The old Blake St was super thick and we really liked it. I’m also worried about my wife’s side sleeping, will the 3” Talalay be soft enough for her? I’m hoping I’ll have good support with the M/M/F/EF on my back.

Thanks!

So glad I stumbled upon this site. I’ve canceled two other mattress orders and am committing to SleepEZ after reading everything on here.

Hello Will,

Thank you kindly for your order!

There are two main reasons we typically recommend the 13" (4-layer) model. First, it’s ideal for heavier individuals who require the extra latex for proper comfort and support. Second, some customers simply prefer or need a higher-profile mattress—either for aesthetic reasons or to accommodate a specific bedframe with a headboard/footboard setup that requires additional height.

If you used our configurator tool to select your layers, rest assured that we fully stand behind those recommendations. The tool is built on over 20 years of experience and customer feedback and has an 89% success rate, meaning nearly 9 out of 10 customers who use it are happy with their mattress as configured—no exchanges or returns needed.

At 190 lbs, you’re right at the threshold where either a soft or medium top layer could work, depending on your feel preference. If you enjoy a softer feel, starting with a soft comfort layer should be just fine. And since your mattress is designed with a zippered cover and individual layers, you’ll have the flexibility to rearrange the layers to adjust the firmness if needed.

Additionally, your mattress includes a 90-day layer exchange policy. You may exchange one layer at a time, and the first exchange comes with a flat $30 shipping fee.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions. Enjoy your new mattress!

Warm regards,
Jeremy
