Cleaning a mattress cover

Hey Guys,

I own a memoryfoam/polyfoam) mattress which is covered with a coolMax cover and a matress protector and sheets. I feel asleep last night with a small grocery bag with ice and the water escaped. I noticed the sheets, protector and mattress cover were wet obviously and I aired them out. The coolmax cover now has a halo with a stained yellow surface as a result. What is the best way to clean the coolmax cover? Should I remove it from the mattress and just let air dry?

Hi wssviper,

There is some good information about cleaning a mattress and spot cleaning any stains here and here and here.

If it’s a water stain then the suggestions that are linked in post #2 here should be helpful.

If the cover is washable then you could also wash it according to the manufacturers instructions (which I would follow very carefully). If you can’t wash it then removing it would probably allow it to dry more quickly and completely.
