Comparing VZone to other zoned support mattresses

Hello - I am on my journey to buy a latex mattress and recently went to a showroom to try some out. One of the mattresses I really liked was the Obasan 10" Deluxe, especially with the topper. However, the price tag is a bit hard to stomach at $5.5K.

My question is whether anyone has thoughts or experience with how a VZone might compare with the Obasan Deluxe?

I know the Obasan has 3 zones vs. 4 on the VZone. I do wonder if 4 zones are too many, which could cause people of different heights to not align well with the zones.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Longdrawrancher,

One of the main differences i believe in our vZone vs the Obasan is the latex. We use 100% natural Talalay, while they use a dunlap processed latex.
Our zoning is also different they use a 3 zone system, meaning one layer is broken up into 3 different zones, which at a glance i struggle to understand. We’ve been zoning layers since 2003, and we’ve come a long way. Our vZone is very adjustable, after the purchase. What we are looking to achieve is not only spinal alignment, but pressure point relief for side sleepers, without giving up lumbar support.
Often for a side sleeper, as soon as you get a mattress soft enough to relieve pressure points in both the shoulder and hips, your lower back aches from lack of support. Once you get it firm enough for your lumbar region, your arms falling asleep, and hips are aching. Our vZone lets you have both lumbar support and pressure relief, and being that everyone is built differently, each zone can be independently adjusted at NO COST in the first 100 nights. For a back sleeper its the simplest equation, you just want your hips to drop a little more than your lower back, when your hips drop and the lumbar is supported, you have the proper spinal alignment.
In this image, you’ll see our 4 standard vZone layer configurations:

We have built in adjustments for the most common scenarios. . . The hip can be swapped with the foot to firm up the hip, and lumbar with knee. Anything else you might need, just ask and we send it out
There is also a spacer at the head of this layer that can be moved to the foot, to shift the zones toward the head of the bed, for sleepers under 5’1" tall.
We back all of our sleep systems up with a “Goldilocks Guarantee” allowing you to change the firmness level of your sleeping surface thru the life of the mattress, as your body changes, your needs may change. We are here for you if you have any more questions, feel free to reach out. You’ll always get a live person if you call during business hours.

Thank you,

Dewey
